Afterlife
Afterlife / with Szymon Rogiński
2021
With her marbled papers Katarzyna Korzeniecka creates volatility, she fishes out moments. The ephemeral of a sheet of paper created with human gesture with a pattern that resembles deceptively a structure of a rock is closer to metaphysics of death than a stone.
A piece of paper is placed on the water where precisely chosen multicolour pigments are floating on its surface, intentionally and tenderly laid down. Gently moved, set into subtle motion resembles a nebula. Elaborately removed from the water at last, with a gesture full of attention and sensitivity to the slightest tremor, with the awareness of consequences of the slightest hesitation, is similar to the metaphysical essence of life – its beginning and its end. To what was before and what comes after.
