IMOW / with Jacek Sienkiewicz

The exhibition In My Own Wave is the result of a collaboration between a visual artist and an electronic music composer. Katarzyna Korzeniecka (b. 1976) and Jacek Sienkiewicz (b. 1976) have merged their autonomous worlds of image and sound. In recent years, Katarzyna Korzeniecka’s main focus has been exploring bookbinding techniques and the centuries-old ebru technique. (…) Contemplative video coexists with Jacek Sienkiewicz’s sound installation, which incorporates musical pieces from his latest album IMOW. (…) The exhibition In My Own Wave is part of a long tradition of collaborations between visual artists and musicians, rooted in avant-garde experiments from Black Mountain College, Kantor’s informel, matter painting, and the dynamics of the living image. The unifying element remains the titular wave: sonic, visual, or literally aquatic.
