The Third eye
The Third eye / with Igor Kubik
With the participation of Bartosz Bielenia, Jacek Sienkiewicz, and Agnieszka Tarasiuk
Apr 6 — 20, 2024
Artist’s studio, Warsaw
The shamans of the Polish People’s Republic had exact minds. The Polish Psychotronic Society, publisher of the monthly magazine Third Eye, was founded in 1976 by a group of scientists, researchers and cybernetics engineers. An important figure in this environment was Piotr Korzeniecki (1946-2021), an architect, dowser, clairvoyant, healer, and the artist’s father.
Katarzyna Korzeniecka dedicates a site-specific secret exhibition organized in the attic suspended between the towers of the Church of the Savior and the socialist realist decorations of Constitution Square to her father’s memory. In the last decades of the 20th century, this small attic was the home of the Korzeniecki family, as well as a dowsing office and a meeting place for psychotronics, dowsers and bioenergy therapists.

Third Eye launches the graphic novel Piotr, by Katarzyna Korzeniecka and Igor Kubik. A collaboration between the two artists, the story was written by Korzeniecka, and the images combine her ebru practice along with Kubik’s illustrations. The exhibition takes place in the apartment where Korzeniecka spent her childhood and where her father, the protagonist of the art book, lived until his death. This significant space is temporarily made available for the visual storytelling related to the book’s narrative. Korzeniecka’s new works, Kubik’s original illustrations from Piotr, a Korzeniecki family VHS home video edited live and displayed on a well-kept Pewex TV, an audiobook production of Piotr read by Bartosz Bielenia, a special room with a soundscape prepared by Jacek Sienkiewicz — all this to facilitate our journey into the past.
We invite you to an intimate, personal exhibition, immersed in the realities of Warsaw in the 1980s, while simultaneously reaching into the afterlife.
